Chinese dancer-part 3
Friday, November 30th, 2007the Chinese dancer almost finished.
I’ve added some color and fake eyes with Photoshop to see what would be the result after the painting process. Hope I can do it as good as photoshop…

I’ve attached the head and started to make the hands. still lots of smoothing to do. I had an accident and she’s not stable anymore… I will need to find a solution for that. She can only stand up thanks to my bottle of methylated spirit.

This new sculpture will be a chinese dancer. She’s a bit bigger than the other pieces, and this time I will try to smooth the surface the best I can and make the painting process easier.
here is the body:

First time I try to paint a sculpture. She’s 20 years older after being painted…
I really understand the importance of smoothing the clay now

She’s almost finished. I have to smooth some part of the sculpture but It should not take long. First time I use a wooden base.
I should go back to my Leprechaun, he’s waiting for me !!!

this is the first step of what will be a schoolgirl. I need to work on the expression and the shape of the face. she looks a bit too old in my opinion.

I’ve decided to make a different caracter from the previous girls I made before during my free time this week-end. This is the rapid concept of a Leprechaun.
In Irish mythology, this kind of creature is a male faery, usually which looks like an old man. They are known to hide gold, and the only way to find this gold is to capture a Leprechaun and interrogate him. It is said that at the end of a rainbow, you may find a leprechaun and his treasured pot of gold. It is also said that if anyone keeps an eye fixed upon one, he cannot escape, but the moment the gaze is withdrawn, he vanishes.

Finally I’ve changed my mind about the sculpture and instead of holding a candle, she’s holding a snake:)

I’ve worked a bit on the body, arms and the face. I’ve changed the lips and nose, and I’ve added a better smile.

This is a new piece have stardted this week-end. It will be a girl holding a candle. I need to change the face, I really don’t like this one. I wanted to make her an african face but it doesn’t fit with Iwhat I had in mind.
